Danny Glover On The Payroll For SEIU Stern's Raid On Unite-Here
Visiting Philadelphia For Raynor and SEIU

WELL KNOWN activist actor and Screen Actors Guild member Danny
Glover and his production company have apparently been put on the
payroll of the SEIU in their efforts to raid Unite-Here. While
tens of thousands of hospital workers are unorganized in the
Philadelphia area, Glover was reported by hotel workers to have
visited Philadelphia hotels in an effort to get workers to leave Here
and join with the SEIU.

At one hotel, the Hyatt Regency Penn's Landing on the Philadelphia
waterfront, some workers told Glover he was not welcome to come and
raid their union. The SEIU international is sending letters and
telephone automatic calls to members homes encouraging them to
leave their union.

It is also reported that the SEIU has put Danny Glover's production
company on the payroll and also provided an office for him. While shilling
for anti-democratic SEIU president Andy Stern, Glover has been very
silent about the growing crisis in his own union, the Screen Actor's Guild.

The Guild has been wracked by an internal crisis and the multi-national
union busting corporations that run the industry are now playing hardball
with the actors who do not have a contract. Philadelphia Unite-Here
members are planning to publicize the role of Glover and encourage
him to allow the Unite-Here members make their own determination of
who should represent them.
