Labor-cation Day In Cleveland

Dear Labornet Steering Committee:

I am trying to PR our event in Cleveland Ohio on October 24, 2009. My Local, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers & Trainmen Division 3 of Cleveland Ohio, and Cleveland Jobs with Justice have teamed up with Cleveland State University's Black Studies program to promote a Labor Education day. We are bringing the Harry Bridges Project's "From Wharf Rats to Lords of the Docks" to the MC Auditorium at 6 pm.
We feel very strongly that Cleveland has to wake up and get the labor movement motivated again. We are finding that many are ignorant of the history of the labor movement to the point that many think that employers are "giving us the weekend, the vacations, and the 8 hour day". Too many Brothers and Sisters took sticks to the head, jailed, and even died for us to forget their struggles.
I am finding it a bit difficult finding easy access to the media in Cleveland. We had a labor radio show, but it is gone. I have reached out the old fashion way with letters, emails, and phone calls. I was hoping that Labornet might be able to help us with getting the word out, or at least lending some advise to a newer labor leader. Anything you can do is much appreciated.

In Solidarity,
