Call For CA State CAPS Members To Vote No On Concession Contract
VOTE NO: THE DEAL HAS ALREADY COLLAPSED!

CAPS(California Association of Professional Scientists)

The signing of six TA’s with the 65,000 of us still without a contract has been presented to the memberships as an integral part of the Brown budget solution. Since then the Brown deal has collapsed, so has the position of the 65,000 pawns who have been asked to join SEIU 1000 in accepting a concessionary slave contract, under fear of facing the fact that either we fight back or we loose ground! In our case the pawns have been led onto the slaying field and the generals have drawn back our slaughter will have been for naught.

Our leadership warns us: it could be worse, that the Democratic majority legislature, could impose a more brutal contract. This begs the question, why were you supporting these politicians who you can’t count on? You expect them to back-stab their constituency, us, even while they have a majority in both houses and the executive? Of course you do, because they are not workers’ representatives, they are the representatives of the bankers and corporations. We need a real workers party not fair weather “friends of labor”.

The strategy that ties workers organizations to politicians of the corporate crooks and bankers provide only for tactics which fit those parameters: reliance on the courts and lobbyists. This is a failed strategy and tactics.

For CAPS to win we must reject this contract and prepare for job actions. To win a fair contract we must reach all the other unions and sound the alarm that with the collapse of the Brown budget plan we have been abandoned on the field of battle. For labor to win we must break out of the isolation ward and build solidarity. PAWNS CAN NOT RETREAT! NOW WE EITHER FIGHT OR DIE!

SOLID PICKET LINES ARE THE ONLY ROAD OPEN TO A FAIR CONTRACT!

IF WE LIE DOWN FOR THIS CONTRACT THEY WILL COME AFTER THE DEFINED PENSION NEXT AND LIKE IN WISCONSIN AND OHIO TAKE AWAY OUR RIGHT TO A UNION ALTOGHTER! (I read it in the Wall St Journal we’re next)

Only self organization of the rank and file can defend our organizations, our pension and win a fair contract.

We need to form up action committees to prepare our co-workers for action

Our organization should call all other public workers unions to convene of a congress of all Public workers across the state to defend and advance union rights, wages and benefits.

REJECT: “SHARE THE PAIN”

MAKE WALL STREET PAY FOR THEIR CRISIS

VOTE NO PREPARE FOR JOB ACTIONS
