Dear LaborNet folks,

Please find attached, as a PDF doc., my updated bibliography for “Workers, World of Work, and Labor Law” [see Resources]. It includes links to websites at the end of the compilation.

This particular compilation (I have over 30 bibliographies on sundry subjects) was truly, as they say, a labor of love. Before I became a very part-time academic in my mid-40s, I had the following jobs: a switchboard operator at an answering service, a ride operator and food service worker at (the now defunct) Busch Gardens in Van Nuys, California, a “shopping investigator” (a job I took out of desperation yet regret to this day), a laborer for a sign shop (one of my favorite jobs owing to the endearing Italian who was my boss), a dishwasher (several places), a cook’s helper, a stationary supplies delivery person, an office furniture truck driver, a recycling center “team member,” an apiarist’s assistant, a landscape maintenance worker, a resident apartment manager, a firefighter for both the USFS and a private contract crew, a trails maintenance worker for the California Conservation Corps and for a private equestrian group, a construction laborer, a medical lab driver, a driver for the 1984 Summer Olympics, and, my last and longest job before I hung up my tool belt to teach part-time: finish carpenter (I left out a few seasonal jobs).

In solidarity...
and best wishes,
Patrick
