Friends of transit workers,
On Feb 11, I was illegally fired from my 10-year job as a Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) bus driver. I was fired for being a union steward. Video from our first press conference (see link below) has generated interest around the world for a fight-back campaign. We are trying to use this moment to help transit workers speak out about our dangerous working conditions and disrespect from management. We are trying to build connections between workers and community allies so that we can create public transportation that meets the needs of our communities.
Please join us for a public speak-out this Wednesday morning. Transit workers, retirees and unjustly fired workers will be joining union and community allies to unify and speak the truth publicly.
