On June 17th we will bring our collective voice to the attention of public officials with a rally of rescue and recovery workers, rank and file union members and labor leaders. We will be joined by numerous elected officials, health and safety advocates, and community residents. Together, we will demand a solid commitment to fund long-term health monitoring and treatment and to address the many health-related needs linked to Ground Zero pollution.
Come and make your voice matter! You can help convince our government to “step up to the plate” and do what needs to be done for those who risked their lives at a time of immense sorrow and fear, and those who helped our communities and country recover and move forward.
Thousands of workers selflessly answered the call to help in the rescue and recovery efforts after New York’s greatest tragedy on September 11th. While working tirelessly at the WTC site, they were exposed to toxic contaminants that jeopardized their health and safety. Since that day, many have become seriously ill and others have died.
We cannot wait any longer. We have waited long enough.
We need action now!
