STREET PARTY!!! FEATURING: **World-famous Mexican snacks from Castlewood's locked-out cooks! **Music from the Brass Liberation Orchestra! **YOU! Bring a drum, rattle or kazoo and help make a joyful noise!
Come rock the streets of Pleasanton to celebrate a year of Castlewood workers' courageous resistance to extreme union-busting tactics!
"Castlewood's board thought we were just a bunch of immigrants that they could push around. When they locked us out, they thought we'd cave in and give up our children's health care. When they told us we could only come back to work by decertifying our union, they believed we'd fall for it. When they kept us on the streets for a year without a paycheck, they thought we'd give up and disappear. But after a year of fighting, the club's finances are a disaster, and us workers are stronger than ever. We've learned how powerful we can be when we stand together, and how much the whole community backs us up. We'll be out here another ten years if that's what it takes to win a contract that's fair for our families," said Angel, Castlewood Cook for 10 years.
Can't make it on the 26th? Please consider making a donation to the workers' hardship fund! (The fund is now housed by the amazing East Bay Alliance for a Sustainable Economy - remember to put "Castlewood" in the comments box to make sure your donation goes into the fund.)
