On January 8, 2006 over 500 auto workers protested outside the entrance of the North American
International Auto show in Detroit, Michigan. The rally which was called by Soldiers of Solidarity
included auto and parts plant workers from the US and Canada.
Over 500 auto assembly and parts plant workers as well as retired auto workers protested against
the attacks on wages, pensions and healthcare by the auto companies. They also were angry that
the UAW leadership refused to support the rally or other labor protests against these attacks.
The rally was called by Soldiers of Solidarity www.soldiersofsolidarity.com and included auto
and parts plants workers from throughout the mid-west.
